Most equipment held at a Brazilian border was held by a rule nobody had read.
Atienza Comex determines which Brazilian regulation reaches a specific piece of equipment before it is shipped, quoted or promised to anyone. Which certification is compulsory, who is allowed to hold the registration, what the label and the manual must carry, and who answers when the authority calls.
We are not a freight forwarder, a customs broker or a trading company. We never take title to goods and we never touch cargo. We read the regulation, read the public register line by line, and tell you what is there, including when the answer is that the market is not worth entering.

Every figure on this site is a count we made from a public file on a stated date. Nothing here is an estimate, a projection or a market study bought from someone else. The sources page names the file, the method and the day it was read, so any figure can be re-counted against us.

Registration and homologation holding
Brazilian registrations and homologations are held by a Brazilian entity. We can be that entity, or set up and supervise the one you prefer.
Point of contact and record custody
A named address in Brazil that answers when a regulator writes, holds the conformity documentation, and carries the post-market and recall duties the law puts on the local side.
Labelling and Portuguese documentation
Marking, identification plate, warnings and manual, in Portuguese and in the form the regulation and the consumer statute require.

A manufacturer established outside the EU appoints an authorised representative or responsible person inside it: a legal entity that is the point of contact for the authorities, keeps the technical documentation, verifies the labelling, registers the product where it must be registered, and handles corrective action. It is not optional and it is not a courtesy.
Brazil imposes the same set of duties. It just never gave them one name, and it splits them across three regulators and a consumer statute, which is why manufacturers who handle Europe competently still arrive here unprepared.
How we work
The first answer may be that you should not enter.
You send the model, not the catalogue. Model designation, technical sheet, rated pressure or voltage, whether it contains a radio, and what it is used for. One machine at a time.
We read the rule and the register. The ordinance in force, the exclusion paragraphs, which is where most surprises live, and the public register of who already holds a registration for that object.
We write what we found, with the citation. Article and ordinance number, the file the count came from, the date it was read. If something could not be determined, the opinion says so in those words.
You decide, and only then does anything cost real money. Certification, testing and registration are paid to third parties. We tell you the order and the sequence before you commit to any of it.
We would rather write an opinion that ends the conversation than one that starts a project which fails at the port. A firm this new cannot afford a single client who was told what they wanted to hear.
Fifteen minutes is usually enough to know whether there is a problem.
Send the model designation and the technical sheet. If the equipment is clearly outside compulsory certification, we will say so and there is nothing to sell you.
